Born in Los Angeles, raised in the suburbs of Orange County, Dr. Lin left sunny southern California headed to the East Coast for college. He attended Brown University, where he graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, honors in History.
After graduating, he returned to California to take up cycling, as well as attend UC Davis, School of Medicine. Thousands of cycling miles later, he made his way down to the beaches and mountains of Santa Barbara. There he completed his Internal Medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
He decided to head east once again and completed his Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Afterwards, he joined the faculty at Mount Sinai Medical School and cared for patients in the Surgical and Neurosurgical ICUs.
In 2007, he returned to his roots in southern California and joined Newport Critical Care Physicians and the medical staff at Hoag Hospital, where he currently serves as Chair of the Department of Critical Care Medicine.
His interests in medicine include sepsis management, hemodynamic monitoring, neurologic critical care, and the application of technology in medicine to improve patient safety and quality of care.
