As the child of a physician and nurse, I grew up in a “medical family" and was exposed to life in hospitals at an early age. But it was my own childhood illness leading to kidney failure that inspired me to pursue a career in medicine.
While in residency training, I became interested in critically ill patients and their management. My fellowship research was focused on elucidating the pathophysiology of acute lung injury and ARDS. Clinically, I am interested in the management of septic shock, acute lung injury, and multiple organ system failure.
Outside of work, I enjoy my time with my family, cooking, swimming, and biking. I am also a devoted fan of '80s alternative and hard rock music and play the electric guitar.
