Professionally, Dr. Awad has extensive experience caring for critically ill patients across medical, cardiovascular, neurological, and surgical intensive care units. His clinical interests include advanced life support, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support, and neurocritical care. Prior to joining Hoag, he practiced as an Emergency Medicine attending physician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is also committed to advancing the field through research, medical education, and mentorship, with peer-reviewed publications and presentations in critical care, emergency medicine, and dermatology, as well as leadership roles throughout his training.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Awad enjoys spending time on or near the water, whether sailing or relaxing at the beach. He also has a creative side and enjoys crafting, especially taking on new projects with his Cricut machine. When he’s not at work or working on a new creation, he values time with family and friends and appreciates the importance of slowing down to recharge.
